My girlfriend and I stayed at Breezes back in April after a Kenya safari.
I saw some of the reviews about the place being overpriced for what it is and don’t agree. I’m American from New York and I’ve travelled extensively through the Caribbean. You would pay triple the price in St. Barts, the Virgin Islands, etc. for the type of service, rooms and quality of food you get at Breezes.
The Ian Schrager, white curtain sultan like design of the resort’s bars and seating areas give the resort another worldly feel. A lot of care and design taste went into the resort and you feel like you are staying at a much more expensive place.
I thought the food there was the best I had during my entire trip to Africa. The breakfast buffet was very fresh with a great variety of tropical fruits and fresh baked bread. Dinners were amazing as well and were more like full scale productions than plain old buffet dinners.
So yes, do the all inclusive while there especially considering you are in the middle of nowhere with few other dining options. The all inclusive made it the great value it is. Stone town wasn’t much to see, so I agree that you don’t miss being an hour away from town.
All in all a great place to relax on the beach after a safari.
