We stayed at Breezes for two weeks after a safari in Kenya. The purpose for our trip was our honeymoon so we wanted to make it as special as possible. We had read all the previous reviews for this resort and on the whole they were good but were a little concerned about the few negative reviews regarding the service and management team but had our heart set on this resort.
When we arrived at Breezes we were led into the open reception area and were welcomed with drinks. The staff were familiar with our names and the whole process of checking in was extremely relaxed and easy. the reception area was part outdoors and there were four poster beds in each corner decorated with brightly colored cushions. We soon came to realize that these beds were positioned through out the resort and although it was strange to sit on them at first, they were actually very comfortable and added to the relaxation and tranquility of the resort.
Well what can i say about our stay, it was absolutely perfect. All the staff were fantastic, including the management!!! They made a point of remembering our names and everyday would approach us to make sure that everything was going well for us during our time at the resort.
We had many surprises through out our honeymoon left for us in the room, including a bed laid out under the stars and a complimentary lunch and bottle of wine.
Myself and my husband had a treatment together in the spa called Sultans Bath which was very romantic and although a little expensive was well worth it and we enjoyed every minute of our massage next to each other.
We also had a romantic dinner for two on the beach at The Tides restaurant. the food was incredible and although its a set menu we changed the main course a little to suit our likes. The food through out our stay at Breezes was surprisingly fantastic. Usually when you stay half board the food is buffet style and average, however at Breezes, dinner was both buffet and A La Carte (alternating each night) and the food was an extremely high standard. There was sometimes food on the A La Carte nights that i did not eat and the Chef was only too happy to make me whatever i wanted. On one occasion he came out and talked through what was on offer and what food to avoid with regards to allergies. There is also an Indian restaurant within the resort which is also an extra cost but again well worth it to try something different and once again the chef will come and talk to you beforehand to ensure that he cooks the food that you want.
We only went on one day trip which we organised with our Kuoini rep to the spice town. It was just the two of us on the tour and we tied the tour in with a reservation we had for dinner in a restaurant in stone town called Emmerson and Green. (Highly recommended but book before you leave home, its a tower top restaurant with views over the whole of Stone town). Our driver waited for us while we had dinner and took us back to the hotel afterwards.
We also got our PADI diving licenses whilst on honeymoon which was well worth it and on the final dive went out to the deep ocean and saw so many fantastic fish.
Overall i cant rate this resort enough. The Staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms large, clean and very comfortable, the food was fantastic and tailored to our every need and all the added extras despite being a little expensive were well worth it!! All in all it was a perfect honeymoon
